Mandela Barnes Leads Charge Against Climate Change & Those it Impacts Most

Mandela Barnes Addresses Climate Change and Reshaping Wisconsin’s Middle Class.

Clean Air Act Created Jobs

Mandela Barnes’ father worked on a catalytic converter assembly line for 30 years.
“He was one of thousands of people all across this state who got good paying jobs and they could raise a family. All because of the opportunity created when Congress took bold action to address climate change. It’s time for us to do it again.”

Obvious Climate Change Consequences on Our Communities

The effects of climate change are increasing every day, according to Barnes.
“Climate change is already taking a toll in our communities, from our cities to our family farms. We’ve got once-in-a-generation storms coming every year now.”
While storms have been more powerful, ‘once-in-a-generation storms coming every year now’ is a bold claim. So, what’s the solution?

Barnes Knows What Congress Needs

“We need bold, powerful action to address climate change that breathes new life into our manufacturing industry.”
Apparently, China currently manufactures 80% of the world’s solar panels, and “It’s time for Wisconsin to get in on the action so we can build solar panels and windmills right here at home.”
His job creation proclamation sounds sweet, yet Barnes keeps putting “Congress” and
“bold action” in the same sentence without mentioning the full extent of ‘bold, powerful action.’ Usually, when a government takes ‘bold, powerful action,’ we think of tyranny, not democracy.

Barnes Boasts Accomplishments, Promises, and Salvation

While serving as the chair of the Governor’s task force on climate change, Barnes “brought together people from all sides of this issue from farmers, to business executives, and tribal leaders, also our environmental activists.”
Barnes’ cool-kids club “came up with a plan to put Wisconsin in the driver’s seat of our future. That’s the leadership we need in Congress.”
Barnes says he will “bring people together to curb greenhouse gas emissions by transitioning to 100% renewable energy as soon as possible.”
How, exactly, are we to transition to 100% renewable energy?
He states how investing in clean energy manufacturing will ensure “our country is energy independent.”
What is Mandela Barnes’ endgame? Is it to “create good paying jobs” or get clean energy manufacturers in his back pocket?
“It’ll take a lot to protect our future. But if we do this right, addressing climate change is the way we rebuild our middle class, and make Wisconsin a leader for the next generation of manufacturing.”
So, the only way to save the middle class is through addressing climate change? Interesting. And then what? Will Barnes support more legislation that decreases taxes on the rich who can afford clean energy and clean energy manufacturers while the rest of us crumble under the taxes levied upon us?
